I am jazzed for the upcoming League of American Orchestras 2014 conference in beautiful Seattle, Washington. Progressive, hip and cool, as was Frank Sinatra, The Emerald City will be alive with world-class music and I can’t wait to be a part of the action in one of America’s fastest growing urban centers.
Seattle promises to be positively jumping as attendees take in the seminars, exhibits, concerts and festivities, but the highlight for me will come on the evening of Wednesday, June 4th, when I’ll be performing in the lobby with a piano player I’ve heard lots about, but have never had the privilege of working with until now – Paul Richardson, a self-taught musician with an envied left-hand bass technique who has risen to one of the most respected in his genre.
The innovative, high-tech atmosphere of Seattle is especially suiting for the best Frank Sinatra impressionist to perform because a live concert in a relaxed, intimate, cocktail setting, not unlike a classic film or Mad Men scene, is quite the unique approach to demonstrating one’s goods and talents. And Frank … A Musical Journey is definitely a product certain to garner a lot of attention as they discover what a perfect show it would be for their orchestras and symphonies.
I have twenty-seven songs planned, with staples such as Come Fly with Me, Lady is a Tramp and Fly Me to the Moon in addition to favorites of mine, You and Me, How do You Keep the Music Playing, plus Oh, Look at Me Now. It’s always difficult deciding on what to perform due to the awe inspiring breadth of iconic hits, but with the selection I’m bringing, I have no doubt these purveyors of music will hear something that will be an irresistible match for them.
The conference takes place June 3rd – 6th, 2014 at Seattle’s Westin Hotel and will be jam-packed with vibrant, spirited, and enthusiastic musical-types of my element, which is why I’m so wired for this experience.
