2017 is about to go out with a bang with my Las Vegas show, Drinkin’ - Singin’ - Swingin’ playing a five-night run at the Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, Nevada from December 27th through the 31st. We’re going to bring out the “laugh” in Laughlin along with a whole lot of swinging tunes.
Ryan Baker as Frank Sinatra and Doug Starks as Sammy Davis, Jr. are joining me as Dean Martin on stage at one of the premier gaming and entertainment destinations in the country. The town itself is named after Don Laughlin, a true entrepreneur from Minnesota who fell in love with the Vegas style of life as a teenager, leaving school to pursue his business dreams.
He never looked back, eventually purchasing in 1964 what was, at the time, a boarded-up eight room motel which would be the foundation for today’s bustling Riverside Resort in the town that would be called Laughlin after the man who developed it.
We’ll be in the Celebrity Theater, an 800-seat venue that has hosted some big names over the years, yucking it up with a room full of Rat Pack fans every night, with the climax coming on New Year’s Eve.
I love working with Ryan and Doug; Baker’s flexibility allows him to perform a variety of roles, but his bread-and-butter is his voice like The Voice. Starks is another versatile performer who fell in love with Sammy at an early age, seeing him on stage and even hanging with him at home. When we’re on stage together, the chemistry really resonates, just as it did with Frank, Dean, and Sammy.
So, join us as we say goodbye to 2017 and welcome 2018 - we’ll be Singin’ and Swingin’, but, except for maybe a glass of Jack to get in character, we’ll leave the Drinkin’ to you!
