I’m leaving Independence Day in idyllic Idyllwild, California to get ready for one of my favorite shows of the year right in my beautiful hometown of Las Vegas. I performed Sinatra Forever last year at the sparkling jewel that is the M Resort to a sold-out crowd of more than 2,000 and this year there are only 1,600 seats available, so it promises to be another electric audience, which is right where I thrive.
Mark your calendar for Saturday, July 12th, 2014 if you’re anywhere near Vegas because I’ll be rocking the M Pavilion with a 24 piece big band orchestra, which means sounds that will seem like they’re coming straight from Heaven, taking you back to an era completely unmatched for live musical performances.
The M Resort Spa Casino opened its doors in 2009 and has achieved a four star Forbes Travel Guide rating every year, making it hands down one of the finest hotels in the world. The completed cost to make this gem shine was one billion dollars. I particularly enjoy my pre-performance meal here – my mouth is watering at the thought – where the kitchen was featured on Top Chef, season 6.
The resort was developed by Marnell Corrao Associates, which is a name with a hand in projects such as Wynn Las Vegas, Bellagio, and Caesars Palace. The latter venue, while familiar to everyone, will be especially recognized by those with knowledge of the history of Frank Sinatra, who had a little run in with the manager of the casino and his gun once during an argument.
This will be one of the most spectacular shows of the year, so if you don’t have your tickets yet, grab them before it’s too late and if you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas, you still have time to catch the show if you move really quickly!
